Just bought myself new wheels!

Hi guys,
It’s X-Mass after all, isn’t it?

After viewing a “for sale” post on AudiForums.com, I decided to make an offer on those 19” BBS replicas (with tires). I was lucky to be the first bidder and got them rapidly. Funny story is, the first owner of these wheels wanted to buy them back but I came in first. (I guess they were priced aggressively)

So lucky me! They are in transit from Elkhart, IN and should be at my door on December 30. Will keep you posted!

Andre

The original post:
19 FK Automotive staggered BBS reps.

The wheels are 8.5 in wide up front, +35 offset. The rears are 10 in wide, +20 offset. I had new tires installed since these pics were shot.
The tires are 255/35/19 Continental Sport Contact 3 summer tires and run about $1300 for the set from Tire Rack. They are hardly used at all, estimated 90% tread left, still have rubber nipples on all tires.

I started this blog just recently because I have so much fun modifying my MK1 TT... that I need to let the world know! And it's also a good reference when looking back at my mods. Ciao for now! Andre

I ran CSC3’s last two summers and that is a great tyre, a bit noisy but works pretty good on track too. Those wide rears might cause some under steer tough (stiffer ARB to rear helps), but you gotta sacrifice something for the looks.

Wouldn’t wider rears be bad for the haldex in the long run?

I ran 8″ on all four wheels, to get the desired looks I ran 15mm spacers up front and 20mm rears.

      Hi Rolf,

I am told that if the tire size remains identical, there should be no problem. I will investigate this…
(Spacers are not the best either, on race tracks that is) 😦

I’ll keep you in the loop.

Nice looking wheels, lucky you. Were they the 5X100 hole pattern or did you need adapter/spacers. Reason I ask is I am looking at some 19 inch wheels with 5×100 pattern but want to get the offset right. I like how yours look in the wheel well relative to the fender lip…very nice. One last question; do you have enough real well clearance for 11 inch rears?
