I finally installed the Single Wiper Conversion kit!

The install was quite easy; it took me about 2 hours from start to finish. Not sure I will leave the wiper on the driver’s side as I may switch it on the passenger’s. That’s one good thing about this kit: you can choose where the wiper sits. I can be at many places, the most common being on the driver’s or passenger’s side and the TT DTM race car look: right in the middle! Here’s the video I shot last night. I’ll add another one soon, with the wipers in action under snow. (It requires I take the car out of the garage, where it sleeps all winter long:) )

First, I took the wipers arms out and the shroud under them

Second, I took the linkage and motor out, following the instructions

Third, I replaced the OEM linkage with Storm's. (linkage being the upper part)

Finally, I re-inserted the linkage (with only one wiper stud) and shroud. The only thing left is to install the wiper arm!

Here’s a video of the single wiper in action. (sorry for the quality, it was shot from my iPhone!)

About andre-martin hobbs

I started this blog just recently because I have so much fun modifying my MK1 TT... that I need to let the world know! And it's also a good reference when looking back at my mods. Ciao for now! Andre

    Hey Andre,

Any chance you could help direct me to one of these kits? They seem to be near impossible to find anymore!

Thanks from your neighbour in Toronto 🙂
